Don't be a hard rock

"Don't be a hard rock when you're really a gem"

I feel, however conceited as this may be, as if this advice applies to me. The only problem is that I am treated like a hard rock. Am I a diamond still in the rough? Or am I just a poor quality cut, low carat and essentially worthless to the diamond world? I just want to be polished and put on display. I want the world to notice me, and not to be in the back of some scary diamond expo center. 

If I am not a diamond, will someone ever tell me? How do I survive in the hard rock world? 

I just want it so bad. Maybe all the breaking down will cause me to come out of the rough. I guess, at the very least, it will make me stronger.

New York City

New York City was beautiful as always. It will be strange if/when I move there... It didn't really feel like vacation, but like I was visiting a good friend's home. I guess with all the moving lately nothing really feels like home. It just amazing how many things fit into one moderately sized city. For every single shop there are numerous people working in them; the hundreds of tourists from around the world; and the recent college hopefuls. 

If everything works out the way I dream, I will one day be walking my dachshund puppy to my modest midtown apartment where my live-in boyfriend will have made me cupcakes as a surprise for my opening night on Broadway...

That sounds so lovely.
